Cataract Loses organization Matriarch!

Cataract Nation we have lost a true champion and our organizations longest tenured member and our dear friend. At around 1 pm on March 5, 2016, Ms. Darcia Clary Coppede passed away at Buffalo, General Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Darcia was our beloved treasurer for several decades; she had been a part of Cataract Nation for over 25 years in some capacity. To many of us she was much more than a board member and volunteer. She was the matriarch of our organiz...ation and was also a very dear family member! Her love for community, the youth and our organization was unrivaled; she was a great person that will truly be missed and never forgotten. As for her legacy, she set the standard for volunteers and community service and that legacy will continue to live on through, her son Josh, Bella her granddaughter and all of us. While life continues to go on, it will be very difficult without her presence, it will take several individuals to fill the void in our organization and family left by her tragic passing. Cataract Family please keep our beloved Darcia, her son Josh, her granddaughter Bella, her parents, siblings and her lifelong friend Wayne Ollison and her entire family in our prayers and hearts! We bid you farewell for now beloved friend and until we meet again we will continue to miss and love you!

“A beautiful garden now stands alone,
missing the one who nurtured it
But now she is gone,
Her flowers still bloom, and the sun it still shines,
But the rain is like tear drops, for the ones left behind,
The weeds lay waiting to take the gardens beauty away,
But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay,
she loved every flower even some that were weeds,
So much love she would plant with each little seed,
But just like her flowers she was part of Gods plan,
So when it was her time he reached down his hand,
He look through the Garden searching for the best,
That's when he found Darcia, it was her time to rest,
It was hard for those who loved her, to just let her go,
But God had a spot in his garden, that needed a gentle soul,
So when you start missing Darcia, remember if you just wait,
When God has a spot in his garden, She'll meet you at the gate....”
