Cataract Student Athletes achieve youth All-American Status!

A successful 2015 season has led to some postseason accolades for a few of the Cataract Little Loop Football Association’s best.

In its first season playing Pop Warner, Cataract boasted two conference title-winning teams (the All-Stars and Steelers), both of which advanced to regional play. The Steelers went the farthest, falling two games away from a Super Bowl appearance in Orlando, Florida.

Both teams were recognized for their accomplishments, along with seven players.

Herman Wooten III was named a fifth-grade All-American and has been invited to all four All-American games — the Dmaxx All-American Bowl, the Diamond All-American Game, the Gridiron Kings All-American Game and the BK Classic All-American Game.

Anthony Lozina and Logan Ramadan earned sixth-grade All-American status. Both were invited to the Dmaxx event, while Ramadan earned a place in the Diamond game.

Antwain Gandy-Benavides, Joseph Dixon II, Zion Paige and Donald Sinclair were named seventh-grade All-Americans. All four earned Diamond recognition, Paige and Dixon were also invited to the Dmaxx game, and Gandy-Benavides added Dmaxx and Gridiron Kings honors.

The Diamond game is up first, slated for Memorial Day weekend. Dmaxx is next in July in New York, followed by Gridiron Kings in November and the BK Classic in January 2017.
