Student athletes of the month for July announced!




Skye Greene is our cheer SAOTM for July! Skye is 10 years old and she is the daughter of Joyal and Robert Greene. Skye is entering her first year with the Cataract Cheer and Dance team.  Her Brother Logan Ramadan is a member of the Cataract Steelers (peewee) football team. She and her family lives in Grand Island, NY. Skye is currently enrolled in the Grand Island city school district and she is entering the 5th grade in the fall. She has maintained a 90 and above average throughout 2014/2105 school year. Her accomplishments in school include 2nd place in the local spelling bee , super sport award, top speller in class award and She is an accomplished solo violinist as well. She always has a positive attitude and gives 100% in everything she does. We are proudly welcome Skye and her family to the Cataract Family and NATION! Great work Skye and continue to make all us of proud with your hard work and determination in the classroom and as an athlete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #CATARACTNATIONSALUTE! Donald Sinclair Jr., is 1 of 3 football players that will be recognized for the month of July. Donald is proof the hard work in the classroom and on the field always paysoff. He is the son of Donald and Emilie Sinclair. He attends Henry J. Kalfas Magnet School and is a straight A student and one heck of an athlete. 6th grade started a chess club, on student council, student of the month 2x's, presidential award for maintaining a 90 or above average all year, outstanding achievement in Math, social studies, science, language arts and reading, read 35 books this year, over all character award, pride of Niagara award, 91.5 over all average, 2x
NY/USA wrestling state placer 105lbs and 115lb, played football, baseball, gymnastics, band. Way to go Donald and continue to work hard in the classroom and on and off the field nephew! Logan A Haseley is another of our SAOTM award winners for the month of July! Logan is 10 years old and is the son of Bryan and Lisa Haseley. This fall he will be entering fifth grade and attends Harry F. Abate Elementary School where he has been enrolled in the Honors Program since second grade. He has a 91.25 average. He is also learning Spanish in a program called Hola since the third grade. He has received many certificates of his accomplishments such as Student of the Month, Do the right Thing, a PAL award and many others. While Logan has been enrolled in the honors program he is highly active in sports. He has been playing football with Cataract since the age of six years old, he is a wrestler ranked fourth in the state and has won the western regional championship in his age division . He has also earned his 200th win this wrestling season. Logan also plays baseball and Canadian football during  the summer in St. Catherines, Ontario. All of this while maintaining his average. He does know the importance of maintaining high grades, he  plans on attending college, then he hopes to become a member of the FBI. Logan is also aware that sports are not a right ..they are a privilege!  This is one 10 year old kid who knows the meaning of hard work, discipline and dedication. Great job nephew and continue the great work!
